A.S.I. Special Election for Academic Senator Positions


Dear Cal State L.A. Community,


Associated Students, Inc. is responsible for ensuring there is student representation on the Academic Senate and various subcommittees.  As you know it is crucial to have the student voice and input on decisions and policies affecting the student body at large. 


We are seeking motivated and energetic student leaders to apply and run for Academic Senator positions.   


Applications are being accepted for:


  • Undergraduate Academic Senator (3 positions)


  • Graduate Academic Senator (2 positions)


The application packet and application can be downloaded from our website: www.asicsula.org/elections and hard copies are also available in the following locations: A.S.I. Student Service Center (U-SU 105), A.S.I. Administrative Office (U-SU 203), and the Center for Student Involvement (U-SU 204).


The deadline to apply is Tuesday, December 1, 2009.

Turn completed applications and platforms into the Center for Student Involvement, U-SU 204 by 5 pm.

Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 1:30 pm, Salazar Hall Quad

Speak to and witness candidates for Academic Senators debating on issues important to you that will be voted on at the Academic Senate (i.e. Quarter to Semester Conversion and other University Wide Issues).

Winter Special Elections

Tuesday, February 2 & Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Cast your vote for candidates for Academic Senators online.  You will be sent your secure ballot to your NIS Cal State L.A. E-mail.  You must log on to that account to vote securely.  


Results will be announced on Thursday, February 4 during the Board of Directors meeting at 3:30 pm in the Board Room, U-SU 303
